Kate Moss has long been one of my idols, and she is my favorite super model. I've always felt that there was...something about her. And I finally found out what it was when I saw pictures of her wedding in Vogue's September issue.
Basically, Kate took my dream of a wedding and made it real. If I was ever going to have a wedding, her wedding would be it.
First off, her dress...Oh my. Spectacular? Elegant? Ethereal? Graceful? They don't even come close to describing it.
Breathtaking, isn't it?
John Galliano was inspired by photos of the Jazz Age and the likes of Zelda Fitzgerald while designing the dress.
Yeah, no big deal. The 20's is only my favorite era EVER and Zelda Fitzgerald is only one of the most fabulous women of that time.
Goodness. This dress just embodies the 20's to me. It's just incredible. It literally took my breath away when I first saw it. Kate looks so ethereal and angelic.
The movement of the dress is just gorgeous. I love how the the bias-cut chiffon hangs off Kate's body so elegantly. It's like she's floating.
The gown is spangled with hundreds of hand-sewn (YES, every one of those are sewn on by hand) gold paillettes and embroidered plumes of the mythical phoenix. John said they are delicate and defiant, just like Kate.
Her 20's-inspired gown compliments her stunning, art deco engagement ring perfectly (not the best picture, but you get the idea).
Yep. Forgot to mention that she also basically has my dream engagement ring, too.

As for the rest of the wedding, Kate carried the 20's theme throughout it.
"I wanted it to be kind of dreamy and 1920's, when everything is soft focus," Kate said.
"The Great Gatsby. The code name was GG for a while. That light and kind of fun decadence. It's rock-'n'-roll Great Gatsby!"
Ok...how awesome does that sound? I mean, really? I think that just surpassed awesome and took it to a whole new level.
I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves:

Everything is so understated, and yet it still feels so opulent and luxurious. It's elegant and grand and lavish without being over the top. Everything is so soft and light. It's like heaven on Earth.
It's exactly how I would want my wedding to be. I've never understood why people had the ABSOLUTELY OVER THE TOP GINORMOUS WEDDINGS WITH HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE AND A GIANT CAKE. That's not what it's about for me. I'd want it to feel relaxed, but elegantly relaxed. And hers was just that.

I absolutely love the pictures of Kate and new husband Jamie Hince (who I must confess I am slightly in love with myself). They look so happy and in love.
Oh. My. Sweet. Goddess. Divine.
ReplyDeleteHow did she pull something off so magnificently!? Honestly, it's a friggin' fairytale come true! Words? What words are honorable enough to encompass this treasure trove of images? Of a wedding of the ages?
None. I can't think of any. Beautiful, stunning, radiant, extraordinary don't even begin to describe....
Well done, Kate. You are absolutely the most stylish women on the planet with EXQUISITE taste. Cheers to you and your marriage.
This was a dreamy wedding, I do agree.
